The wax is formed into scales by eight wax-producing glands in the abdominal segments of worker bees, which discard it in or at the hive. Beeswax is used for high cholesterol, pain, fungal skin infections, and other conditions. Beeswax is frequently used in cosmetics thanks to its ability to lock in moisture all day.
